Palri Parkhang - Glorious Mountain Printery

A heart project of the Tibetan Buddhist Reource Center (TBRC) and Bodhi Foundation—Palri Parkhang was established to fulfill the shared dream of revitalizing a vast collection of historical and rare Tibetan books. Palri Parkhang aspires to restore and republish TBRC's comprehensive collection as the Wisdom Masters Digital Library, providing easy access in the form of digital eBooks, printable image files and hardcopy texts for the purpose of supporting the research, study and practice of the Tibetan culture and its spiritual traditions. Utilizing TBRC's digital archives as the root library, the process begins with raw image scans of the physical pecha pages and, with the use of image manipulation software; each page is archived and restored to a printable/digital format.

Working closely with TBRC and the Khyentse Foundation, Bodhi Foundation hopes to establish a computing facility in the Kingdom of Bhutan. This facility would perform the detailed restoration resulting in libraries holding thousands of amazing works representing all the great Tibetan buddhist traditions. The raw archive library, currently available to scholors, teachers and others at www.tbrc.org, comprise more than 2 terabytes of data and 5 million pages.

The generous efforts of the project's supporters have brought more than 400 titles back into print—each of which can be reproduced with the push of a button or delivered anywhere in the world on CD for printing locally. Palri Parkhang's current catalog of reproduced works can be viewed at www.parkhang.org.
